Abstract :
Hospitalization is the direct health care services to patients, where medical and nursing care activities such as anamnesis results, medical history, physical examination, investigation, diagnosis, therapy, course of the disease as well as other actions documented in the patient form. Mental Hospital of Bangka Belitung Island is one of the special service agencies only in the province of Bangka Belitung that deal with mental health..Data processing in Mental Hospital of Bangka Belitung, especially in the Inpatient, still using the traditional process, it can be seen from the work done nurses, which is visible where good data recording system of patient data, nursing actions, treatment, examination support, disease diagnosis, etc. are still done by hand writing. With the amount of data that must be documented every day, and besides nurses also must perform activities of nursing care to patients, sometimes not all data is entered into the registry book of patients, thus causing the resulting information is not accurate and complete, which could influence decisions in determining the Top Management direction of wisdom in an effort to improve service to the community. Therefore, the authors assume that with the support of information technology today, it is necessary to use a computer and a good database system as a tool in managing patient data into an information system that is useful for the patient, and the future development of the hospital coming up.
