Abstract :
Linguistics is the study of language. This study is an attempt to describe and analyze types of deixis which is used by the main character in the film Maleficent 2. The aim of this research is to identify and classify the types, and the referents of deixis that main character used in the film. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data of deixis have been taken from the utterances in the film Maleficent and analyzed using Levinson?s theory. In English, there are 5 types of deixis, those are: person deixis, place deixis, time deixis, social deixis and discourse deixis. Deixis itself is a pointing term in language The result of this study shows that deixis is classified into 5 types. Keyword:Linguistics, Deixis,Film Maleficcent.
