Abstract :
The number of existing information systems in the health institutions lead to communication between hospital information systems becomes very important. The hospital information system that has more than one, usually do not come from a single vendor. Examples of information systems owned by a hospital, including Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Hospital Information System (HIS). Another factor that led to communication between information systems is essential is the geographic location between the practices with one another, with different information systems are far apart.
To overcome the problem of communication in the world of health, in 1987 ANSI created the HL7. With the HL7 communication between applications RIS, PACS and HIS will be overcome. Issues addressed by HL7 include patients do not need to register again and again, did not happen redundant data in a hospital database, facilitate the exchange of data between information systems owned hospital located far apart though. All patient data will be stored on the server and will be integrated into every system in the hospital with HL7.
HL7 broker is a system designed as an interface that has a function to integrate patient data between HIS, RIS and PACS. HL7 Standards HL7 broker is used HL7 version 2.5.1 Message type ORU ^ R01 and OMI ^ O23.
