Abstract :
The Financial crisis happened in United State at the end of year 2008 causes a domino effect for any other countries around the world, so it called a global financial crisis. Banks performance has become one of the indicators whether the crisis has impact on the nation economy performance. That is why analyzing the Banks performance has being a major view to get better knowledge on the impact of the crisis. The paper study the performance of Banks in Indonesia in terms of Capital Adequacy Ratio and Non-performing Loan ratio, before and at time of international financial crisis in 2008. This study involved ten Banks include government, private, and foreign Banks selected by using purposive sampling method. The result of this study is that there is a significant difference in the average of CAR before crisis and the average CAR at time of crisis. Otherwise, there is no significant difference in the average of NPL ratio before and at time of crisis. Key words: financial crisis, Banks performance, financial ratios, Capital Adequacy Ratio and Non-performing Loan Ratio.
