Abstract :
Human resources is one of the most important part in the organization, company
or industry. Plantation industry is one of the most widely used industrial human
resources, either for field or office, but the research only performed to executive level
employees of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III.
The research was based on theoretical and empirical review to explain the effect
of performance management which contains goal setting, performance appraisal, and
reward system to working performance. The research was performed to executive level
employees of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III; sources of data are collected using a
questionnaire of 66 executive-level employees with a valid answer. This research is
based on research model which was developed by Cummings and Worley (2003) with
title analysis of factors performance management toward performance of executive level
employees of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III which located on head office.
This research reveals influence of independent variable which contain goal
setting, performance appraisal, and reward system to working performance as
dependent variable; the result from this research is goal setting affect significantly to
dependent variables, namely working performance, while performance appraisal, and
reward system do not directly affect working performance. But simultanly, performance
management has a significant affect to working performance.
