Abstract :
These research goals are to know the influence of Non Performing Loan
(NPL) and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) to Sharia Bank?s Return On Equity (ROE).
NPL including assets improvement ratio for banking industry, because NPL reflects
the quality of the Syariah Bank?s lending and CAR is the ratio of liabilities
requirement to fulfill the minimum Capital required by Bank of Indonesia to measure
the adequacy capital to absorb lost, so that both have the relationship towards Syaria
Bank?s ROE.
The sample of this research is Bank Syariah Mandiri, where in 2005 and 2009
recorded as the bank that has the largest assets in Syaria Banking Industry.
Observation Period 2004-2006 is using 36 data.
Multiple regression technique was used as the analysis tool along with thypothesis
and F-test in 5 % of significance level (?=0,05). The hypothesis results
indicate that both in simultaneous or partial, that NPL and CAR has significance
influence to ROE.
