Abstract :
This research aims to analyze the influence of ownership structure and corporate governance mechanism on agency cost of banking companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2010-2012. The sample used in this research consists of 31 banking companies based on purposive sampling. Asset turnover used as proxied of agency cost. Multiple regression analysisused to determine the relationship between the proportion of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and size of board commissioners on the agency cost. Control variables used are dividend, bank risk, leverage, and firm?s size. Based on the research, the results showed that the proportion of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and size of commissioners have insignificant effect to the asset turnover. Meanwhile, the control variable dividend has a positive significant effect to the asset turnover Keywords : Agency cost, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, size of board commissioners, dividend, bank risk, leverage, firm?s size.
