Abstract :
Turonggo Yakso was jaranan art that is inspired by traditional
ceremonies after the harvest of agricultural products called Baritan ceremony.
The ceremony was a form of gratitude to The One Almighty God because of
abundant agricultural output. Trenggalek Regency Government?s concern for
the art of Turangga Yaksa was to hold the jaranan open festival as a place for the
creativity of artists.
This research used a qualitative method with a form approach. It
discussed the form problem used the concept of the form of Y Sumandiyo Hadi
with elements which included dance moves, dance halls, dance music, dance
titles, dance themes, type or nature of the mode of presentation of the number of
dancers and gender, make up and costumes, lighting, and dance properties.
The result showed that the jaranan open festival organized by the
Department of Tourism and Culture, the benefits were not only for artists, but
also for the Trenggalek community. The Turangga Yaksa performance has been
worked om with knowledge of dance composition, both movement, dance music,
make-up and costumes and floor patterns worked on by distorting and stilization
to produce works art that have high artistic value.
