Abstract :
Biodiesel as a renewable and environmentally friendly energy source can be an option to help overcome the pressure of the need for fuel oil (BBM), especially diesel or diesel oil in Indonesia. Therefore, development continues to be carried out to support government programs in creating national energy security. The abundance and rapid growth of palm oil commodities in Indonesia as well as the increasing demand for biodiesel from year to year make biodiesel factories have the potential to be established. The innovations made in the biodiesel production process are by intensifying the process using reactive distillation with the consideration that the reaction time required is shorter than the conventional process and can reduce the alcohol inflow rate. When compared to conventional processes, the alcohol inflow rate can be reduced by up to 66%. Reactive distillation can also reduce investment capital and reduce production costs (He, 2006). This factory is planned to be established in Siak Regency, Riau. Based on economic analysis, the factory fixed capital cost (FCI) is Rp. 1,230,504,578,129. The cost of working capital (WCI) of Rp. 217,147,866,729. Total investment capital (TCI) is Rp. 1,447,652,444,857. total production (TPC) of Rp 851,641,023,461. POT 2.15 years. BEP (graphic/analytic) 50.70%.. Based on the economic and technical aspects, this FAME plant is feasible to build.
