Abstract :
Shipbuilding is inseparable from various factors of consideration and supervision from several related bodies such as regulations on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Code A 749 (18), Chapter 3 points 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 regarding stability provisions. The consideration factors studied in this final project are static stability and dynamic stability. This research was conducted using the features contained in Maxsurf Stability, Maxsurf Modeler, Auto CAD, and Microsoft Excel with basic data processing methods. This processing method includes calculating fuel use, calculating deck capacity, making ship models based on cargo conditions, checking the righting lever and GZ area values, comparing research results with IMO criteria recommendations, and providing design recommendations. Based on a case study, the data in this study uses field data from a direct survey in the fishing village of East Balikpapan. This data is then varied under five conditions based on load and fuel, yielding uncorrected trim values IMO but corrected static and dynamic stability. So the researcher gives a design recommendation in which all IMO corrections are met and loading can be increased by 0.5 tons.
