Abstract :
The Pre-Designed Levulinic Acid Factory from sugarcane bagasse 30.000 ton/years capacity which will be planned in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Gresik JIIPE (Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate), Gresik City, East Java, it operates continuously for 330 days and 24 hours. The production process is carried out using the biofine method, starting in the preparation stage where the biomass is separated from the lignin and then fed to the PFR and CSTR reactors for the formation of Levulinic acid products with the addition of H2SO4 catalyst use Levulinic acid conversion is 77%. Impurities and other unwanted compounds using a vaporizer, filter press and extraction are then up to a distillation column for the final separation. Techno-economic analysis is known that the factory requires fixed capital of $ 65.273.100,77, working capital of $ 8.513.882,71, ROI after tax 53%, BEP 36%, SDP 23% and DCFR 26%. Thus, it can be concluded that the Levulinic Acid pre-design is feasible to be established in Indonesia.
