Abstract :
Work accidents are things that often happen, work accidents usually occur due to human negligence and lack of work safety procedures. In the shipbuilding industry there are jobs that can pose a risk of work accidents. Through observations and interviews in the field at the PT. Untung Brawijaya Sejahtera shipyard. The work steps applied are sandblasting, marking of plates to be replaced (marking), cutting of old plates (cropping), cutting of new plates (cutting), installing and adjusting new plates (lifting/lift up), welding plates (welding). ) and painting the hull (coating). Potential hazards arising from cleaning the hull (sandblasting) in the form of eye irritation, skin irritation, hearing loss, respiratory problems, falling from a height. The potential dangers arising from marking on the ship's plate to be replaced (marking) are slipping, poisoning, falling from a height, being hit by material. The potential dangers arising from cutting old plates that have been marked (cropping) are respiratory problems, exposure to sparks, exposure to hot materials, explosions, falling materials, being pinched by plates, falling from a height. The potential dangers arising from cutting new plates (cutting) are respiratory problems, exposure to sparks, explosions, tripping plates. The potential hazards arising from the installation and adjustment of the new plate (lifting/lift up) are in the form of being pinched by the plate, falling from a height, and being crushed by material. Potential hazards arising from welding plates (welding) in the form of eye irritation, electric shock, exposure to sparks, explosions, falls from a height. Potential hazards arising from painting the hull (coating/painting) are eye irritation, respiratory problems, skin irritation, falling from a height. Potential hazard analysis using the RAC (Risk Assessment Code) matrix method and the ILO and OSHA OHS standards can be a solution for making better procedures.
