Abstract :
The Tourism Area of Kampung Atas Air Bontang Kuala consists of buildings that are entirely made of wood, including roads that connect each house. The Tourism Area of Kampung Atas Air Bontang Kuala is located on the beach so that there are land and sea breezes that can increase the risk of spreading fire in the event of a fire. After conducting interviews with Kunsari (2021) as the staff of the Bontang Kuala Village, data was obtained that there had been at least 5 fires in the Tourism Area of Kampung Atas Air Bontang Kuala. The purpose of this study was to formulate Recommendations for Increasing Community Capacity in Reducing Fire Disaster Risk in the Tourism Area of Kampung Atas Air Bontang Kuala, Bontang City. The analytical technique used in this research are: Community Capacity Index Analysis. The results of the research that the author did showed a fire capacity index with a value of 0.521 which was in the medium class. The variables that are given recommendations are variables that have a low index with a Likert scale rating of "Very Bad" namely Infrastructure, Socialization, and Organization..
