Abstract :
Technology has been developing rapidly, especially in the field of biometric technology. Biometric technology is a technology that utilizes the behavior of an individual or physical characteristics to identify or verify a person's identity. One of the technologies that utilize biometrics is face recognition, where the aspect used is the physical characteristic in the form of a person's facial pattern. In this study, the InsightFace library is used for face recognition applied to a student attendance system based on mobile devices. The cosine similarity method, which functions to classify a document or text, is also used in this research. By using the InsightFace library and the cosine similarity method, this study obtained test results conducted on 5 different individuals with an average score of 0.914628 when facing forward, an average score of 0.465625 when facing upward, an average score of 0.595178 when looking down, an average score of 0.604746 when facing left, and an average score of 0.617344 when facing right.
