Abstract :
With the development of technology today, many people are inspired to create new things, especially something that can be controlled automatically using a simple and practical system to facilitate various daily activities. This can also be applied to the salt production process, where the manufacturing process is still done traditionally or manually. The main problem that often arises is the difficulty of monitoring the condition of the reservoir whether it is empty or full. Based on these problems, this final project will conduct research on a PLC-based water level control system. This research begins with designing a PLC system for water level control and designing an HMI for the monitoring system in accordance with the desired system. This research will use the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to identify the water level. The microcontroller used is Arduino uno as a data processor sent by the ultrasonic sensor and sends it to the PLC in the form of digital data. Then from the PLC will provide output to activate equipment such as pumps and solenoid valves. The PLC used is Mitsubishi FX3U 48MR type. From the tests carried out in variation 1, the average error value is 5.45% and the precision value is 0.1% and the system response time is 0.25 seconds. In variation 2, the average error value is 4.79% and the precision value is 0.084% and the system response time is 0 seconds. In variation 3, the average error value is 7.2% and the precision value is 0.109% and the system response time is 0.1 seconds. In variation 4, the average error value is 3.29% and the precision value is 0.056% and the system response time is 0 seconds. And in variation 5, the average error value is 2.87% and the precision value is 0.055% and the system response time is 0 seconds.
