Abstract :

The Assistant Room and the Central Room are rooms located in Vibration and Acoustic Laboratory at Department of Engineering Physics ITS Surabaya. Both rooms are often used by laboratory residents to carry out all activities. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the subjective results of the occupants of the existing natural lighting by measuring methods using luxmeters, simulations using DIALux software and questionnaires. Based on the measurements and simulations that have been carried out, the average ratio of strong natural lighting in the Assistant Room and Central Laboratory Room is close to 1, which is 0.9 so it can be concluded that the simulation results using DIALux software can validate the measurement results. While the results of the questionnaire responses said that, visually, residents felt uncomfortable when they were in the assistant room because of too much light. A different response was shown by the occupants of the central room, where the occupants felt normal with the existing natural lighting. This condition shows the inverse condition between the comfort standard obtained from the measurement results and the simulation based on the referenced standard (SNI).
