Abstract :
Mliwis batik is a written batik that has existed since 1966. This batik has a meaning that is explored from the potential of Temanggung both from human resources and natural resources. Inspired by the history of Ancient Mataram, the mliwis motif is taken from a bird in the legend of Angling Dharmo. The price of batik mliwis Temanggungan itself is quite affordable, starting from 500 thousand to 1.5 million. But unfortunately, batik mliwis Temanggung has several problems, promotions that do not reach the wider community so that many people lack awareness of the local wisdom of batik mliwis Temanggung. From these problems, promotional measures are needed to increase the awareness of the people of Temanggung, especially Temanggung City. In this design, the researcher uses a qualitative method by collecting data by observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The result obtained from this design concept is a "legend" of the meaning of batik that has existed since 1966 which describes the potential of Temanggung and will later be implemented in the design of brand awareness of batik mliwis Temanggung by designing promotional videos and several other supporting media.
