Abstract :
Technology was developed to establish communication between devices that can communicate over long distances. Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is one of the implementations of the Internet of Things (IoT) as a means of connectivity which has a wide coverage area and low power consumption. LoRa technology has the advantage of a wide range of up to 15 km with long battery life and low cost. This study designs a 923 MHz LoRa technology network in the Cilacap Regency area with a planning area of 973 km2. The bandwidth parameter used is 125 KHz. LoRa network design is based on capacity and coverage planning. The results of the LoRa capacity network planning using a spreading factor of 7 and a code rate of 4/5 resulted in the number of planning gateways 10 with a cell radius of 6.28 km, RSSI value -75.51 dBm, SINR -97.08 dBm, throughput 21.85 Kbps, effective signal analysis value -93.34 dBm. While the LoRa coverage network planning results in the number of planning gateways 3 with a cell radius of 18.73 km, then the RSSI value -80.85 dBm, SINR -98.67 dBm, throughput 21.65 Kbps, effective signal analysis - 103.94 dBm . It can be concluded that capacity planning produces better coverage and parameter values than coverage planning. LoRa network planning based on capacity is more suitable to be implemented in the Cilacap Regency area until 2025 because capacity planning is able to meet the needs of users in the planning area.
