Abstract :
Aging of the elderly is associated with health conditions such as erosion of the body's totot that leads to bone weakness. So it can cause elderly injuries when falling. Therefore, supervision of the condition of the elderly must be improved in order to provide the fastest care. Utilizing Internet of Things technology can make it easier to monitor the elderly. The study focused on designing a monitoring system for the elderly using the MPU6050 module to detect falls in the elderly and provide NEO-6M GPS on the device to detect the coordinates of the elderly when falling. And utilize the LoRa communication system to be able to monitor over a considerable distance. The study also focused on analyzing QoS from delay, packet loss, and troughput to LoRa communication. From the test results obtained that the device that has been designed can run well in the same way with its function. The device can monitor fall detection using the MPU6050 sensor, the coordinate point of the fall using Neo-6M GPS, and the LoRaWAN network on the Antares platform in real time. The average reading percentage fall on the MPU6050 sensor was 91.11%, testing 10 times every 9 fall position movements. From the Neo-6M GPS testing obtained unfavorable results because the accuracy produced by the GPS sensor is less accurate, and get an average difference of 29.69m. Quality of Service performance of both delay, packet loss, and throughput according to standards issued by TIPHON values from SF7 and SF12 have less criteria, compared to other SF values.
