Abstract :
Designing the layout of facilities is quite important for organizing resources in a factory so as to obtain an effective and efficient layout. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are productive businesses to support economic development and development in Indonesia. MSME shoes "Prohana" is a home industry engaged in shoes and sandals. The problem that occurs in msMEs "Prohana" shoes is that the flow of materials in these MSMEs is not regular, causing the machine arrangement to be still far from the close relationship of work stations and the distance between work stations is still far apart so that the distance of material movement needs to be shortened. The goal to be achieved in this study is to design a more effective layout, minimize the distance between work stations and the distance of material displacement by considering the flow of materials. Research on the design of the layout of this facility uses the Systematic Layout Planning and Blocplan methods. The result of the method processing is that there are four alternative layouts proposed by Systematic Layout Planning and five alternative layouts proposed by Blocplan. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that the layout of proposal II of the Systematic Layout Planning method can minimize the displacement distance to 20.01 meters so as to obtain a total displacement moment value of 200.1 meters.
