Abstract :
This study aims to understand the relationship between the teachers well
being of kindergarten and student-teacher relationship. The subjects of this study
were private kindergarten teachers in the South Tangerang and West Jakarta
regions which were obtained by incidental sampling techniques. A total of 125
teachers were sampled in this study, assessing the quality of their relationships
with 481 students. This study uses the Collie Teacher Well Being Scale (2015) and
the Student-Teacher Relationship Scale from Pianta (1991) that has been adapted
by researchers into Indonesian. Based on data analysis using Spearman-Brown
obtained the correlation coefficient (r) of 0.489 is significant at the 99%
confidence level. This means that there is a positive and significant relationship at
the moderate level between the well being of kindergarten teachers and the
quality of student –teacher relationship. The higher the teacher's well being, the
higher the quality of his relationship with students. Teacher well being is
negatively correlated with one aspect of student-teacher relationship, namely the
aspect of conflict, which means the higher the well being of the teacher the lower
the conflict in relations with students. These results imply the importance of
attention to the of teachers well being to improve the quality of teachers with
students in kindergarten.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami hubungan antara kesejahteraan
guru taman kanak-kanak dengan relasi guru-murid. Subjek penelitian ini adalah
guru taman kanak-kanak swasta di wilayah Tangerang Selatan dan Jakarta Barat
yang diperoleh dengan teknik insidental sampling. Sebanyak 125 Guru menjadi
sampel dalam penelitian ini, menilai kualitas relasinya dengan 481 murid.
Penelitian ini menggunakan alat Ukur Skala Kesejahteraan Guru dari Collie
(2015) dan Skala Hubungan Guru-Murid dari Pianta (1991) yang telah diadaptasi
oleh peneliti ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan
Spearman-Brown diperoleh koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar 0,489 signifikan pada
tingkat kepercayaan 99%. Hal ini berarti terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan
pada taraf sedang antara kesejahteraan guru taman kanak-kanak dengan kualitas
relasi guru-murid. Semakin tinggi kesejahteraan guru, maka semakin tinggi
kualitas relasinya dengan murid. Kesejahteraan guru berkorelasi negatif dengan
salah satu aspek relasi guru-murid yaitu aspek konflik, yang berarti semakin tinggi
kesejahteraan guru semakin rendah konflik dalam hubungan dengan siswa. Hasil
ini memberikan implikasi pentingnya perhatian terhadap kesejahteraan guru untuk
meningkatkan kualitas guru dengan murid di taman kanak-kanak.
