ABSTRAKSI Dimas Putra Pinaldy, 2019, NIT: 52155799.T, ?Analisis penyebab terhambatnya gerak maju pada gearbox di kapal MV. Sinar Jepara?, Skripsi Program Studi Teknika, Program Diploma IV, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Pembimbing I: Sarifuddin, M.Pd., M.Mar.E, Pembimbing II: Purwantono, S.Psi, M.Pd. Gearbox adalah salah satu pesawat utama yang disebut sebagai sistem pemindah tenaga, transmisi berfungsi untuk memindahkan dan mengubah tenaga dari motor yang berputar, yang digunakan untuk memutar spindel mesin maupun melakukan gerakan feeding. Gearbox juga berfungsi untuk mengatur berbalik putaran, sehingga dapat bergerak maju dan mundur. Adapun faktor yang menyebabkan terhambatnya gerak maju pada gearbox adalah pelumasan yang tidak optimal dan rusaknya komponen pada gearbox. Sebagaimana fungsi dari pelumasan gearbox adalah untuk mencegah keausan pada permukaan bagian-bagian gearbox. Gesekan antar bagian mesin dalam proses operasional fungsi sangat memerlukan pelumas agar dapat meminimalisir terjadinya gesekan keras pada bagian-bagian komponen mesin tersebut. Gesekan-gesekan antar bagian mesin tanpa pelumas akan menyebabkan bertambah besarnya tenaga yang dibutuhkan untuk menggerakkan operasional mesin, selain itu, berbahaya dan dapat merusak mesin itu sendiri, khususnya komponen pada gearbox dalam waktu relatif singkat. Rusaknya komponen pada gearbox tersebut sangat mempengaruhi sistem kerja gearbox itu sendiri dan akan menghambat gearbox dalam proses menggerakkan maju dan mundur. Oleh karena itu penggantian komponen yang mengalami kerusakan, yaitu sealing ring adalah sangat mutlak diperlukan pada gearbox, dan agar kerja gearbox kembali normal dan optimal maka perlu dilakukan perbaikan terhadap komponen-komponen yang semua itu akan penulis bahas pada skripsi ini. Gearbox is one of the main aircraft which is referred to as a power transfer system, the transmission functions to move and change the power of the rotating motor, which is used to rotate the engine spindle or feed. The gearbox also functions to adjust turn around, so it can move forward and backward. The factors that cause obstruction of forward motion in the gearbox are non-optimal lubrication and damage to the components in the gearbox. As the function of gearbox lubrication is to prevent wear on the surface of the gearbox parts. Friction between engine parts in the operational process requires a lubricant to minimize the occurrence of hard friction in the engine parts. Friction between parts of the engine without lubrication will cause an increase in the amount of power needed to drive the engine's operation, besides, it is dangerous and can damage the engine itself, especially the components in the gearbox in a relatively short time. Damage to the components of the gearbox greatly affects the working system of the gearbox itself and will inhibit the gearbox in the process of moving forward and backward. Therefore the replacement of damaged components, namely the sealing ring is absolutely necessary in the gearbox, and so that the gearbox work returns to normal and optimal, it is necessary to repair the components that all of the authors will discuss in this thesis.
