Kapal container merupakan jenis kapal yang memuat muatan container
yang memiliki suatu sistem pengamanan muatan yang disebut lashing container
bertujuan mengamankan muatan dari pengaruh gerakan kapal. MV. Port Adelaide
mempunyai kendala dalam pemeliharaan peralatan lashing container, sehingga
tujuan pengamanan muatan tidak tercapai secara optimal. Sehingga diperlukan
optimalisasi dalam pemeliharaan peralatan lashing container guna meningkatkan
keamanan muatan dengan rumusan masalah penelitian 1) Mengapa pemahaman
deck ratings tentang pemeliharaan peralatan lashing container di MV. Port
Adelaide masih kurang? dan 2) Upaya-upaya apa sajakah yang diperlukan untuk
meningkatkan pemeliharaan peralatan lashing container di MV. Port Adelaide?
Metode penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan desain penelitian deskriptif.
Sumber data penelitian yang diambil adalah data primer dan sekunder. Teknik
pengumpulan data dengan riset lapangan yang meliputi wawancara dan observasi,
serta studi pustaka dan dokumentasi, sehingga didapatkan teknik keabsahan data
triangulasi. Teknik analisa data menggunakan reduksi data.
Hasil penelitan ini adalah 1) Bahwa pelaksanaan pelaksanaan pemeliharaan
peralatan lashing container tidak dilakukan sesuai prosedur yang ada secara benar,
dikarenakan kurangnya pengawasan officer, prinsip crew yang mengatakan bahwa
biasanya tidak apa-apa sehingga crew mengabaikan prosedur yang benar. 2) Upaya
yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemeliharaan peralatan lashing container
guna meningkatkan keamanan muatan adalah dengan cara crew yang telah
melakukan double checking di setiap pekerjaan untuk menghindari human error,
chief officer yang telah mengkoreksi pekerjaan crew supaya sesuai dengan prosedur
yang benar dan disertai edukasi terhadap crew.
Saran penelitian adalah 1) Meningkatkan pengawasan terhadap kinerja
crew. 2) Chief officer terjun langsung untuk mengawasi agar proses pemeliharaan
lebih optimal.

A container ship is a type of ship which contains a cargo container, it has a
cargo security system called a lashing container aimed at securing the cargo from
the influence of the ship's movements. MV Port Adelaide has constraints in
maintaining lashing container equipment, so the objective of securing the load is
not reached optimally. It is necessary to optimize the maintenance of lashing
container equipment in order to improve cargo security. The research questions are
1) Why is the deck ratings? maintaining lashing container equipment understanding
in MV. Port Adelaide is still lacking? and 2) What efforts are needed to improve
the maintenance of lashing container equipment in MV. Port Adelaide? This
research method is a qualitative approach and descriptive research design. Sources
of research data taken are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques
are interviews and observations, as well as literature studies and documentation, so
that the triangulation data validity technique is obtained. Data analysis techniques
using data reduction and descriptive.
The results of this research are 1) The implementation of maintenance of
lashing container equipment is not carried out according to the existing procedures
correctly, due to the lack of officer supervision, the principle of the crew which says
that it's usually everything is running well so the crew ignores the correct
procedures. 2) Efforts are being made to improve the maintenance of lashing
container equipment in order to improve cargo security by means of a crew who
has double checked every work to avoid human errors, the chief officer who has
corrected the crew's work to comply with the correct procedures and is
accompanied by crew education.
The research suggestion are 1) To improve supervision of crew
performance. 2) The chief officer plunges directly to supervise so that the
maintenance process is more optimal.
