Abstract :
This study examines the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and profitability on firm value with capital structure as a moderating variable in mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2021-2023. The study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between CSR, profitability, and firm value, and to address the uncertainty of previous research results. This research uses a causal associative quantitative method to test the effect of CSR and profitability on firm value with capital structure as a moderating variable in mining companies on the IDX for the period 2021-2023. Samples were selected using purposive sampling with 20 companies. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 26, including classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and moderation tests. The results of this study show that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) does not significantly affect firm value. Profitability has a significant positive effect, and capital structure moderates the relationship between CSR and firm value, but it is not a moderating variable in the relationship between profitability and firm value. The theoretical implications indicate that CSR increases investment costs and reduces financial performance, while high profitability indicates better company performance. Capital structure strengthens the influence of CSR on firm value but is not a moderating variable for profitability. The practical implications emphasize the importance of financial and non-financial factors for investors.
