Abstract :
Friction between metal surfaces has a crucial role in engineering and industrial applications. The importance of lubricants as a mitigation of friction and wear on mechanical components has been widely recognized. This research aims to develop a new test device that uses a pin-on-disc system to measure friction and wear coefficients precisely. This test tool is designed using a 3mm thick pin plate and an 80cm high frame, as well as a 190 cm diameter disc rotated by the motor in the range of 200-300rpm, this test tool allows the researcher to emphasize pins with a load of 1.5 kg on the surface of the disc. Based on the results of the test using a load of 1.5 kg and a time of 5 minutes, the yamalube lubricant was reduced by 0.4 grams and the mesran lubricant was 0.7 grams..
