Abstract :
n 2017 and 2018, China has contributed the highest number of tourists who
visited Bali, especially to Badung Regency. This research aims to determine the
Chinese tourist profile who have visited Badung Regency, Bali by analyzing their
market segmentation. The Chinese tourist profile provided by this research will
help many travel agencies in Badung Regency, Bali in producing accurate and
qualified tourism products so that the number of visits and length of visits of
Chinese tourist to Badung Regency, Bali will increase in the future.
The research method used was desctiptive research method with quantitative
approach. Data collection techniques were conducted by distributing
questionnaires and supported by interviews and literature studies. The research
sample was taken using a non-probability sampling technique in the form of quota
sampling to 255 respondents who were Chinese tourists who had visited Badung
Regency, Bali.
This research finds Chinese tourists profile in Badung Regency, Bali. Most of
them are 15-34 years old tourists who are students and professionals in their jobs,
like to travel first-class as their hobby. They are mostly first-timer tourists who
come from Guangdong Province and they travel due to their physical motivation
and their purpose to do vacation. They visited Badung Regency, Bali during holiday
season for 5-10 days, spending as much as Rp 6.657.300 ? Rp 9.990.000 (2.891 ?
4.345 Yuan) during the holiday, using cash as their payment method. They prefer
to travel in small groups (< 10 people) by arranging their own travel plans using
tourist information obtained from social media to do gastronomic, adventure,
marine, and cultural tourism using rental cars as their transportation choice.
