Abstract :
In every literary work, there must be a lesson that can be taken. A lesson that is also
known as moral value. Mostly moral value is associated with attitudes and action
whether they are good or bad. The moral value in the bad situation expressed by the
author in order to tells readers that it should be avoided. In accordance, in this
analysis, the writer is focusing in describing the moral values that exist in the novel
of The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Thus, in order to find out the moral values that
exist in the story of the novel, this research is conducted through descriptive
qualitative method and using the theory of A. J. Greimas of actant model. As the
result of this research, the writer finds out that there are six main points of moral
values that can be taken from the story of the novel, they are; Justice, Personal Love,
Faith, Sisterly Love, Courage and Trustworthiness. The writer believes that each of
value that can be taken from the story is to make the readers realize what should
they do and should not do in the real life. Moral value also gives the readers lesson
in many ways so people can take the positive side of the story and try to avoid the
bad one.
