Abstract :
Underground To Canada novel is illustrating about the history of slavery on 18 centuries that was created by Barbara Smuckers. This research can give the inspiration for English Literature student that want to make a literary work, especially which focusing in historical cases. In addition, the writer use Sociohistorical Approach by Vygotsky in order to make the analysis complete. So, by writing this paper the researcher want to reveal the historical information that was happen in the past, this historical information can be benefit for us to explore more knowledge especially about th4e slavery and their living conditions at that time. After analyzing the data, the researcher get some finding about the slavery inside the novel, the slavery that was did by the slave trader at that time give the bad impact to the slaves, because they are not only experiencing about the slavery, they also get any violence, threating improperly and fed like a cattle. This conditions also give bad impact to the living conditions of them, because the slaves is not only coming from adult, and teenagers, but children also being slave, so its automatically give the bad impact for living conditions towards the children itself.
