Abstract :
This research was conducted in order to see the information of one's lexical access processes along with the information in lemma level in tip of the tongue states. The study that became the research pioneer of the tip of the tongue in psycholinguistic is Brown and McNeill (1966), who define TOT as a state when individual is unable to think of a word but feel certain that he or she knows it. The aims of the study were to investigate the levels of lexical access that appears when a speaker tries to activate a word from his/her mental lexicon and investigate one?s lexical-syntactic information. The information was related to one's ability to determine the count and mass noun when noun is not available. The method that used by the researcher was descriptive qualitative method by conducting stimuli in order to trigger respondent experienced TOT states. Stimuli that were used come from stimuli used by previous studies because it was considered successful in triggering respondents experiencing TOT The researcher found that the information represented by respondents at the conceptual level was more than the information represented at the lexeme level. In addition, it was found that respondents in the (+)TOT state were still able to access lemma level when phoneme was not available. Keywords: lexical access, lexical-syntactic, tip of the tongue
