Abstract :
Students? Perception towards Online Assessment Using Google
Classroom at SMKN 1 TalangpadangStudents of SMKN 1 Talangpadang have been conducting an online
assessment using Google Classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic. The
purpose of this study is to identify students' perceptions towards online assessment
using Google Classroom in EFL classroom.
The research used a qualitative descriptive method which was carried out in
class X OTKP 2 at SMKN 1 Talangpadang from January to February. The data in
this study were obtained from questionnaires and interviews with all X OTKP 2
students, totalling 34 female students. The data in this study were analyzed
through data condensation, data display, and conclusions.
The results showed that the perceptions of each student were diverse. In this
study, perceptions are divided into positive perceptions characterized as
favorable responses and negative perceptions characterized as unfavorable
responses. Students' positive perceptions are in terms of easiness, usefulness,
practicality, and flexibility of online assessments using Google Classroom.
Meanwhile, students also have negative perceptions, in terms of boredom and
confusion. Furthermore, this research also shows that each student's perception
influenced by several factors such as prior experience, knowledge, and
environment.
