pandemic which were explain about: 1) The effectiveness of Google Classroom in
online learning, 2) Students? obstacle in learning English through Google

learning.
This research was carried out through a case study. It was conducted with
33 students in class X AKL 1 at SMKN 1 Talangpadang. The data were obtained
through questionnaires and interviews. There were 5 participants (2 male and 3
female) in the interview and 33 respondents (7 male and 26 female) answering or
giving their response in the questionnaires.
In this research, there were three findings. First, the finding showed that the
implementation of online learning using Google Classroom is helpful to access the
material and to submit the assignment. Second, the researcher found that some
students experience their own challenges such as internet connection and
understanding issues. The students said that the limitation of internet connection
makes it difficult for them to follow online learning. Lastly, it was found out that
each student has their own perception of using Google Classroom as an online
learning platform or the implementation of online learning itself. Students prefer
face-to-face learning in class because it allows them to interact with their classmates
and freely ask questions to the teacher. Because of the ineffectiveness of this
learning activity, they are too lazy to learn about the material.
