Abstract :
The Portrayal of Narcissistic Personality Disorder As Seen In the Main Character Of Startruck Novel By Lauren Conrad This research discussed a novel written by Lauren Conrad entitled Starstruck. in this novel the case that happened is the personality disorder by the main character Madison that has an occupation as the entertainer in Los Angeles. in that novel, the writer shown the internal competition between the fellows entertainer in Los Angeles to show up to each other about their fame in the media. they tried to bring each other down to shine in their work as an artist in that novel. In this study, the researcher uses a descriptive qualitative methods to describe the phenomena of Narcissistic personality disorder inside the novel that written by Lauren Conrad. therefore, this study is supported by the psychological approach by Sigmund Freud to analyze the behavior of the main character inside the novel and supported by the theory of Narcissistic personality disorder to see the symptoms that owned by the main character Madison who identified as Narcissistic personality disorder sufferer. This paper shows the main character Madison in Starstruck novel by Lauren Conrad identified as the person who suffered Narcissistic personality disorder. from the daily activities proven by the quotation that used by the researcher in this study. this study shown that the main character Madison has several symptoms that makes herself as the person who suffering Narcissistic personality disorder in the novel.
