Abstract :
ABSTRACT An Analysis of Violence Motive In Jack Ketchum?s The Girl Next Door Ayu Wandira 18111082 Most people or parents do not understand the bad impact of violence against children, this is what makes parents, families, caregivers and the surrounding community still consider physical and non-physical violence to be normal with reasons to reprimand or guide children to obey and so on. that is one of the causes of the problem of violence in the world continues to increase. The research, entitled An Analysis of Violence Motive in Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum, was written to fulfill one of the requirements for completing undergraduate education in the Department of English Literature at the Faculty of Art and Education at the Indonesian Teknokrat University. The focus of this study is to analyze the types of violence and the impact of violence against children as reflected in the novel The Girl Next Door. The study applied socio-psychological approach from the theory of social facts Emile Burkheim to analyze the types, causes, and impacts on the victim, namely Meg, which is reflected in the novel The Girl Next Door. The results showed that the victims experienced three types of violations, namely physical violence, psychological violence and sexual violence.
