Abstract :
This research aims to discuss the traits of the main character?s personality. Before I Fall is a 2010 novel that was written by an American author, namely Lauren Oliver, the novel tells about the story of Samantha Kingston, or Sam, who was forced to go through repeated days after she had a car accident. The objective of this study is to find and describe the personality traits of the main character. This research used a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. The writer collected the data in the form of words, sentences, and dialogues from Before I Fall novel as the main data. The journals and articles also used in this research as the supporting data. This research used psychology literature as the approach, and to find the result the writer used theory of personality by Raymond Cattell (1950). The theory helps the writer to find the personality trait experienced by the main character in the novel. During her repeated days, Samantha shows her trait of personality by her behaviour in daily life. The writer found five personality traits in this research.There are common trait, unique trait, surface trait, source rait, and erg.
