Abstract :
This study was designed to examine the impact of Extensive reading on students' reading comprehension in narrative texts. The research sample was 32 students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung. The Researchers used quantitative methods and a quasi-experimental design as a research methodology. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test. As a result of this study, the class that received extensive reading technique treatment had a high significance on reading comprehension, especially in the identifying reference aspect. From the average value of the pre-test results, there were only 13 students who passed the KKM score with an average of 66.52 while the post-test results increased, namely there were 26 students who passed the KKM score, with an average of 82.38. From the independent sample t-test, the 2-tailed sig is 0.000, lower than 0.05. This means that this research hypothesis test means it is accepted. After calculating, this research can be said that extensive reading techniques can improve students' reading comprehension and can use extensive reading as a technique for reading in English learning.
