Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to explain and analyze the understanding of
counseling teachers on self-control and the implementation of counseling in improving
the quality of learning in students. This research was conducted at MAS Al-Washliyah
Tanjung Tiram Batu Bara Regency.
The method used is a qualitative method with triangulation techniques and the
main subject is the Counseling Guidance teacher.
The findings obtained about the understanding of counseling guidance teachers
regarding self-control are good, in accordance with the aspects put forward by Averill?s
theory and the practice of implementing Counseling at MAS Al-Washliyah Tanjung
Tiram in improving student self-control using conventional conventional Islamic
counseling guidance models, namely providing types services, processes, and actions
according to the needs of students, both individually and in groups. Regarding students?
behavior, normal like students in general. The function of BK in this case can lead to selfawareness (self control) so that students can accept their conditions well and make their
Rabb a back when problems arise. In addition, the attention of parents and the motivation
of school counselors also affects students? attituudents? attitudes in learning, both at
school and atdes in learning, both at school and at home. Thus the implementation of
counseling guidance at MAS Al-Washliyah Tanjung Tiram, Batu Bara Regency is the
result of a collaboration between conventional counseling guidance and Islam. This
makes the counselor able to serve students and female students to increase self-control
regarding values in Islam so that the quality of learning in students can develop as
expected.
