Abstract :
The purpose of this studty was to determine the level welfare of the areca nut farmers in Reteh District of Indragiri Hilir. This research was carried out in Reteh District of Indragiri Hilir. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. As for the data used in this study are primery data. The population used was all areca farmers many as 2.194 people with 15% samples taken, namely 44 areca nut farmers. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The data analysis method used is to calculate the gross income up to the net income from the income of the areca nut farmers. To analyse the level of welfare of areca farmers, that is comparing income with the standard of living needs where out of 44 respondendts there are 34 respondendts who can meet the standard of living needs. Si it can be concluded that the areca nut plantations can prosper the areca farmers in Reteh Dsitrict of Indragiri Hilir.
