Abstract :
This study aims to determine the relationship between emotion regulation and resilience of student in Islamic University of Riau. This study involved 100 students who were selected using cluster sampling techniques with 3 stages. Data collection tools in the form of emotion regulation questionnaire (ERQ) compiled by Gross and John (2003) and resilience scale (resilience scale) compiled by Wagnild and Young (1987) were adapted into Indonesian. Based on the results of the Pearson product moment correlation analysis obtained coefficient (r) = 0.264 and a significance value of 0.008 (? <0.05). This shows that there is a significant positive correlation between emotion regulation and resilience of Riau Islamic University students. Higher the emotion regulation of students, higher the resilience of students and vice versa, lower the emotion regulation, lower the resilience of students.
