Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the role of tourism development on community welfare (income) in the village of Rambah Tengah Hulu, Rambah sub-district, Rokan Hulu district. This study used descriptive and qualitative methods by making a comparison between the level of income before and after the development of tourism in Hapanasan tourism using welfare criteria according to the KHL (Decent Living Needs) that have been set by the Rokan Hulu district government. The results of this study indicate that with the development of tourism, the number of traders who lived above KHL before the development of tourism in Hapanasan tourism objects totaled 12 people, and became 41 people after the development of tourism in Hapansan tourism objects, or an increase of 29 people or 241 , 60%. Thus the development of the Hapanasan Hot Spring tourism object plays a role in community welfare (income) in the village of Rambah Tengah Hulu, Rambah sub-district, Rokan Hulu district.
