Abstract :
Forgiveness on students of the Islamic University of Riau is the ability of students to release anger, and resentment done by others against him, and one of the things that are able to influence forgiveness of students is emotional maturity. This study aims to determinethe correlation between emotion maturity and forgiveness on students of Islamic University of Riau. The data collection method uses a forgiveness scale with a total of 32 items and an emotional scale consisting of 19 items distributed to 270 students of Islamic University of Riau.The sampling technique in this study is by using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis method used is product moment correlation. Based on the test results analysis obtained that there is a positive correlation between emotional maturity and forgiveness in Islamic University of Riau students with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0, 696 and a significant value (p) with a significant level (p) 0,000 (p <0.05). This shows that the hypothesis is accepted, it means that the higher the emotional maturity, the more positive the forgiveness of students of Islamic University of Riau. In contrast, the lower the emotional maturity, the forgiveness of the Islamic University of Riau students is getting more negative.
