Abstract :
The use of the internet by teenagers tends to make deviations. Cybersex is one of them; cybersex is the use of the internet as an activity for sexual pleasure such as enjoying vulgar images, chatting about sex, videos or emails that lead to sex. The importance of self-control in the use of the internet is in order not to abuse it. This study aims to determine if there is the correlation between self-control and cybersex on adolescents in Pekanbaru. Subjects in this study are 110 adolescents aged 15-22 years in Pekanbaru taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection in this study uses two scales namely self-control scale and cybersex scale. After the data is collected then the data is processed by using Spearman Rank correlation. This study shows that there is a negative and significant relationship between self-control and cybersex with r = -0.544 and p = 0,000. Thus the higher the self-control, the lower the cybersex, and conversely the lower the self-control, the higher the cybersex. The contribution of self-control with cybersex on adolescents in Pekanbaru is 34.8% while the rest is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
