Abstract :
The number of depression increases every year. Indonesia -is one of countries- experiences the increase, with mostly teenagers. In several studies, some characters were proven having correlation with depression symptoms. Therefore, the writer was interested to find out the correlation between arrogant and depression tendency on teenagers in Pekanbaru. The samples of this research were 250 Senior High School students Pekanbaru, which were taken by using cluster sampling technique. The instruments of this research were 48 items of arrogant scale and 21 items of back depression inventory-II. Furthermore, the researcher empirically tested the hypothesis by using correlation technique of Pearson Product Moment. As the result of hypothesis test, r score was 0,635 with sig. score was 0, 00 (p<0, 05). It means the positive correlation between arrogant and depression tendency on teenagers in Pekanbaru was significant. The more arrogant a teenager, the more he tends to be depressed.
