Abstract :
Every human being, of course, is inseparable from wrong attitudes and mistakes in carrying out daily life. Therefore, in order to anticipate that the community is not guilty, the government will establish a regulation on criminal actions, by imposing sanctions on all perpetrators of lawlessness. The sanction is in the form of detention (prison), but along with its development, the prison has changed into a prison. The function of this penitentiary is more to foster perpetrators of violations of the law, while still paying attention to the rights and obligations of each prisoner. One of the rights of prisoners is remission or reduction in detention period. Every correctional institution must be able to act fairly in granting remissions to every prisoner. Therefore we need the active role of the Penitentiary to provide remission to each prisoner. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the Class A Women's Penitentiary Role of Pekanbaru A Against Provision of Narcotics Prisoners Remission. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the role of Class II A Women's Penitentiary in Pekanbaru Against the Granting of Narcotics Prisoners Remissions is quite optimal, this can be seen from a) The role in a policy to provide remissions to prisoners of narcotics cases is in determining various remission requirements, procedures how to remission, as well as the type of remission that can be given to inmates, b) The role as a strategy. Role as a strategy, which is meant is about the way or steps taken by the Correctional Institution to provide remissions to prisoners, c) Role as a communication tool. The role as a communication tool here is how the party of the Class II A Women's Penitentiary in Pekanbaru conveys information about the procedures and requirements related to the provision of remissions to every prisoner of a narcotics case. d) Role as a tool for dispute resolution, Role as a tool for dispute resolution means the Penitentiary is able to overcome any problems encountered, especially in granting remissions to prisoners.
