Abstract :
This study aims to describe how the teaching of dance in SMAN 1 Rengat. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subject of this research is 1 person, namely as a cultural arts teacher at SMAN 1 Rengat. The place where the research took place at SMAN 1 Rengat is on Jalan Sultan, Rengat, Indragiri Hulu. The theory used in this research is (Suryosubroto, 2009: 30). The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis. From the results of field analysis, it can be concluded that the material taught in learning activities is the variety of creative dance movements with elements of creative dance movements. The method used in the implementation of teaching activities is the ATM method (observe, imitate, modify), group discussions, question and answer, assignments and e-learning methods. The facilities and infrastructure used in the implementation of teaching dance at SMAN 1 Rengat are schools and houses. The assessment used by the teacher at SMAN 1 Rengat is the examination of assignments and the timeliness of submitting assignments.
