Abstract :
This research is motivated by the existence of illocutionary speech used by teachers at SMAN 2 Pekanabaru in daily communication. The problem in this study is ?What are the Assertive, Directive, Commissive, Expressive and Declarative illocutionary speech acts that teachers use at SMAN 2 Pekanbaru??. This study aims to analyze, describe and interpretation of the illocutionary speech act of the teachers at SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. The theory used is a theory put forward by Searle in Henry Guntur Tarigan (2009). This study uses a qualitative approach. This type of research is descriptive research. The technique used is observation and documentation in the form of recording. The results of this study showed that of 74 speeches the identified 24 speeches as illocutionary speeches acts found in the teachers speech at SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. Of the illocutionary speech acts found 14 assertive speeches, 8 directive speech acts, 2 of exspressive illocutionary speech acts. The results of this study indicate that illocutionary speech act that are often used are assertive ilocutionary speech acts and those that are rarely acts used are expressive speech act. keywords : speech act, ilocution
