Abstract :
This study discusses the injustice of women in the novel Sunyi di Dada Sumirah by Artie Ahmad uses critical discourse analysis model Sara Mills. There are various kinds of gender discussions, ranging from male power or women, as well as injustice or discrimination received by the woman herself. Thus, in the novel it is also necessary critical discourse analysis was carried out. Based on this background, the formulation The problem in this thesis is How are women viewed from the position of subject and object in Artie Ahmad's novel Sunyi Inside Dada Sumirah? How women are viewed from the position of the reader in the novel Sunyi Dalam Dada Sumirah by Artie Ahmad?. The method used in this research is content analysis / content analysis. This method is commonly used for understand the symbolic message of a discourse or text. This research is reviewed from the position of the subject-object and the position of the reader. The aim of this research is to describe, analyze, identify, interpret and conclude the position of the subject-object and the reader in describing women in the novel Sunyi di Dada Sumirah by Artie Ahmad. Results This study concluded that although women who were the subjects suffering, but the depiction of women in the novel is still biased. In In this novel, women are still depicted as weak, unable to fight when exposed to acts of violence, his position is below that of a man or someone who is in power and is often the object of exploitation man.
