Abstract :
Destruction of evidence is a follow-up to law enforcement by law enforcement officials. The extermination is carried out according to the mechanism of the existing procedure. The destruction of evidence in the form of narcotics is carried out in various ways depending on the type. Law enforcement against narcotics abuse has been carried out with legal processes, especially confiscation of the proceeds of crime which are then used as evidence, after the legal process, the evidence will be destroyed by law enforcement officials, namely from the police, or the prosecutor's office. The problem in this research is how to implement the destruction of evidence of narcotics crime in the Riau Regional Police. And obstacles in destroying evidence of narcotics crime in the Riau Regional Police. This research method is observational research or research using a survey system, namely by means of interviews and direct observations down to the field. The data used in this legal study includes primary data and secondary data. This research is viewed from its descriptive nature, namely the author tries to provide a detailed description of the implementation of the destruction of evidence of narcotics crime in the Riau Regional Police. The respondents in this research are the Director of the Narcotics Investigation of the Riau Police, the Head of the Bin Ops Nal Narcotics Investigation of the Riau Police, and the Investigators of the Law Enforcement Section of the Riau Police's Drug Investigation Directorate. Knowing how to carry out the contents of the legal rules for the destruction of Narcotics, Efficient and effective or not the mobilization of rules is applied by the Pekanbaru City Police. The obstacle that is often encountered in the destruction of evidence is how often the goods to be destroyed experience delays in destruction due to procedural matters from the court and the high prosecutor. slow to issue a letter of recommendation for the destruction intended by the regional police so that evidence accumulates in the police safe deposit box.
