Abstract :
This study aims to determine the communication planning of the women and children empowerment office in disseminating programs regarding the prevention of violence against women and children in the city of Pekanbaru. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. From the interviews, it was found that the Pekanbaru City Women's and Children's Empowerment Service had implemented several steps in formulating a communication strategy for socialization, starting from getting to know the audience, compiling messages, determining methods to selecting and using media. In implementing this prevention, the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection cooperates with several other agencies in Pekanbaru City such as the Education Office, Social Service, Trade Office, Health Service, Police, Academics, Lawyers, NGOs, the community and other agencies. Finally, the author suggests that the relevant agencies can maintain the regulations that have been built regarding the legal flow to assistance to victims who experience violence.
