Abstract :
This research discusses to study and analyze accessibility of disability in public buildings and public transportation in pekanbaru city and to study constraints and analyze disability in the use of public buildings and public transportation in Pekanbaru city. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. Comfort and convenience provided for persons with disabilities to realize the opportunities and comforts that exist in everyday life and livelihoods as required by public transportation and public transportation by paying attention to their fluency and feasibility, thus enabling accessibility according to the needs and development of transportation from facilities and transportation which can be accessed. Problems that arise for persons with disabilities have difficulty accessing special public services and public transportation to support daily activities due to architectural constraints. Here the government has also provided support to persons with disabilities in Law No. 4 of 1997 and support from the Regional Government of Riau Province number 18 of 2013 concerning the protection and empowerment of disabilities. From the results of this study, the facilities and infrastructure supporting the accessibility of disability in the city of Pekanbaru do not have adequate availability such as inter-agency coordination that makes public facilities both public transportation and public facilities, and increases public awareness in supporting and providing the facilities that are not used properly. Facilities for people with disabilities are very minimal plus those with disabilities know about facilities provided by the government for people with disabilities.
