Abstract :
Parents' attention is a concentration of psychic energy that is directed at an object (child) in order to obtain a maximum achieved (interest in learning). High interest and attention to a particular lesson, usually tends to pay close attention to it. The title of this study is "The Relationship of Parents' Attention to the Interest in Learning for Social Sciences Class X Students of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru". The problem of this study is whether there is a significant relationship of parental attention to the interest in learning students of class X IPS 4 Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between parents' attention and the interest in learning from X-IPS students of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru. The theory used to analyze this research problem uses Tulus Tu?u (2008) theory for parents' attention, and Sudaryono (2013) for learning interest. The sample used was 100 students taken from 70% of the total population of 142 students of class X IPS, with a class of 25 students for each class. This research method is correlational. Correlation aims to find out whether there is a relationship between parents' attention (variable X) with interest in learning (variable Y) in class X IPS at SMAN 4 Peknabaru. The results of this study are that there is a significant relationship between the attention of parents with the interest in learning students of class X IPS at SMAN 4 Pekanbaru with a value of 0.382 with a low coefficient correlation.
